Japanese American Symposium on Healthcare 2017 -- (in JAPAN)

Dr. Lee Pickler and the other team members presented their annual symposium on healthcare to an audience of over one hundred Japanese and American healthcare professionals in January.  The symposium took place in Tokyo, Japan on January 28th, 2017 and in Osaka, Japan on January 29th, 2017.

Comparing & Contrasting Best Practices in the U.S. and Japan

This forum has been going on over a decade, and it offered an exceptional opportunity for American and Japanese healthcare professionals to learn best practices from each other in an environment that provoked discussions about some of today’s most pressing issues and questions facing professionals in healthcare organizations. It was fascinating to examine the cultural differences in the two countries and the way in which healthcare delivery is affected.  Aside from the formal presentation times, the symposium offered the members of each country multiple opportunities to exchange ideas.

Over the years, presenters and presentations have become more valuable as we locate professionals who are able to take the time for the trip to Japan. It was exciting to not only participate but to simply observe the interchange of ideas within the group of professionals.
