Thank you to Amano Rehabilitation Hospital in Hiroshima for sponsoring a tour in the Toronto and Cleveland/Akron area hospitals. The tour group was made up of the founder and CEO Dr. Junko Amano along with two of her management team and three clinicians. They were interested in learning current practices in the delivery of rehabilitation care in both countries. Canada is of interest because their single reimbursement system is most like Japan’s. Dr. Amano is a progressive leader in her hospital having been to tours of Cleveland in the past. She has also retained Lee Pickler’s systems thinking and strategic planning lectures for her leadership team in Hiroshima.
